The history of tapas…It is said there was once a king in Spain who insisted food was eaten with any drink out of concern for health issues with drinking on an empty stomach. So in the early days of tapas, a slice of cheese or ham was placed over your drink. There is debate over whether this was to keep out the flies or hide the smell of bad wine. Today tapas are designed to encourage conversation between people so they are not so focused upon eating an entire complex meal. Sit back and enjoy with a glass of Spanish wine or our house specialty – Sangria – meaning blood, sangria is a wine base punch from Spain.
